5 Fun Free Things to Do When You are Bored

There are plenty of fun free things you can do to entertain yourself without spending a penny. Here are 5 ideas for free activities to get you started:
1. Take a Hike
Check with your city or county and find hiking or walking trails in your area. Even if you have lived somewhere for a long time you may be surpised to find a new path or trail to explore. Pack a bottle or water with you and take a digital camera if you have one, then head out to enjoy nature. You’ll get to relax, have fun and enjoy the sights and sounds around you.
2. Go People Watching
Get together with a friend and head somewhere crowded like a mall or a public park. Kick back and people watch together. Sure, on paper it may sound a little boring, but it’s actually a lot of fun!
3. Go Window Shopping
Just because you don’t have any money doesn’t mean that you can’t window shop. Head out to your favorite stores and browse through them to see what’s new. Try on clothes, play with new electronic gadgets or just see what’s next on your wish list. Can’t get to the store? No problem! You can fantasy shop online. Just hit your favorite websites and add stuff to your cart like it’s going out of style. Of course, you won’t get to checkout, but pretend shopping can be fun too since you don’t have to stick to a budget
4. Check for Freebies at Work
A lot of people don’t know this, but often times companies will have company memberships to places like museums or zoos that allow their employees to get in for free. Ask at the place you work if they have any arrangements set up and if they do take advantage of them.
5. Make Something New from Something Old
Look for items you don’t use anymore that you have laying around the house and then try to find a craft project you could do with them or a way to recycle them into something new. Old t-shirts are great for this since they can be cut up and sewn into more flattering tops or even into quilts or pillows.
Try painting an old table with some paint your have laying around or make a lampshade out of fabric that you found.
