Choosing Colored Eyeglass Frames that Compliment Your Face
Today’s eyeglass frames are fun, fresh and interesting and come in a huge assortment of shapes and colors. While that is great because it gives you a lot of options to choose from, it also can make deciding on the right eyeglass frames a little overwhelming.
More and more people are choosing fun colors for their eyeglass frames because it is a way to show their personality.
If you decide you want to go with frames that are something besides a neutral color, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
Here are some tips on choosing colored eyeglass frames that will help you to get the perfect colored frames for your face.
For the most part people either have warm skin or cool skin. Warm skin has more of a yellow undertone to it while cool skin has more of a pink undertone.
Typically warm colors like yellow and orange look best with warm skin while cool colors like blue and purple look best with cool skin.
An easy way to tell if you have warm or cool skin is to look at the inside of your wrist. If the veins in your wrist have a greenish tinge to them then you have warm skin. If the veins look more blue then you have cool skin.
If that doesn’t work for you try holding different shades of construction paper up next to your face in a mirror. You will probably notice that either cool or warm shades make your skin look better. The wrong shades can make your skin look washed out or odd (for lack of a better term.)
You should keep your skin tone in mind when choosing your eyeglass frames and try to stick with warm colored frames if you have warm skin and cool colored frames if you have cool skin.
Green eyeglasses generally will work with both warm and cool skin tones as will all of the neutral colored frames. Yellow, orange and some shades of red look best on warm skin, while blue, purple and cooler shades of red work well on cool skin tones.
Try on a variety of different frame colors to see which ones compliment your skin tone the best. It is extremely helpful to take along a friend or family member who will give you an honest opinion when you are shopping for frames since sometimes it is hard to see how things really look on yourself.
If all else fails, ask the salesperson at the frame store to help you choose a color that compliments your skin tone.
Colored eyeglasses are fun and are a great way to express your individuality. If you keep the above tips in mind you should be able to find the perfect frames that show off who you are while at the same time looking great with your skin.
