How to Get Rid of a Wart - 3 Different Ways

Let’s face it, warts are ugly and embarassing! Not only that, but they can be painful if they are located in places that you use a lot like the bottoms of your feet or on one of your main fingers. There areĀ a variety of ways to get rid of a wart including medical treatments, over the counter options and alternative remedies that you can try at home.

The first and most obvious way to get rid of a wart is to go see your doctor or dermatologist. Doctors use long, weird looking wands to instantly freeze your wart. Within a few day of treatment your wart should fall off on its own.

For many of us, the expense of a doctor’s visit is out of the question - especially for something as simple as a wart. They do make a variety of wart removing products that you can buy at your drugstore including bandaid-type adhesive strips that have special chemicals on them to help dissolve the wart. New products have come out recently that allow you to freeze the wart much like your doctor would. These newer treatments will usually get rid of all but the most stubborn wart in a single treatment.

Even the wart treatments you can buy at the drugstore can be a bit on the pricey side. If you are looking for an inexpensive (practically free!) way to get rid of your wart at home, you can try a variety of home remedies for warts.

Basically, anything you can do to take away the supply of air from the wart will help to kill it. Some good options are to put duct tape over the wart, paint it with clear nailpolish, or put a small dab of superglue on it. After a week or two of doing this your wart should die and go away.

Another option is to soak a small piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar and place it over your wart with a piece of tape overnight. It may take several treatments, but many people have reported great success with this wart treatment option and it is said to work very quickly.

Remember with any of these home remedies to take caution that you only cover the wart and not the surrounding skin.

You may want to try some of the inexpensive home remedies for warts before heading off to the doctors office and getting a wart frozen off. If, after a couple weeks, you don’t see an improvement in your wart you can always go to the doctor to get it removed, but by trying a home remedy first you may wind up saving yourself some money while still getting rid of your wart.
