How to Survive a Bad Hair Day
No matter how great your hair is and how well your care for it, chances are at one point or another you are going to have a dreaded “bad hair day”. Some days your hair just won’t want to do anything no matter what you try. Here are some easy ways to survive a bad hair day and come out looking great.
Unruly hair can be caused by any number of reasons - high humidity, rain or wet weather, wind, not enough time to style your hair in the morning, falling asleep on wet hair, or even a bad hair cut. One of my worst bad hair days was the result of sleeping in and then forgetting to wash the conditioner out of my hair. Talk about horrific hair!
The easiest way to deal with out of control hair is to hide it. Try wearing a pretty scarf or hiding it away under a baseball cap or a stylish hat. There are so many cute hats on the market these days that it may be worth investing in a couple to have on hand just in case. With the right hat it can look like a part of your outfit so nobody will know you are trying to hide a disheveled mess underneath.
Ponytails are another fast and easy solution. If your hair isn’t long enough for a full pony tail you can try just pulling the front back in a half-pony at the top back of your head. For really short hair try a wide fabric headband. It can tame hair and hold a lot of it in.
If your hair is greasy try powdering it with baby powder to absorb some of the oil.
Keep some hair accessories like ponytail holders, bobby pins and clips with you in your purse in case of bad weather or the effects of humidity throughout the day. That way if your hair freaks out at work or while you are away from home you can fix it with a quick trip to the bathroom.
When a bad hair day strikes it can leave you feeling pretty unattractive and dumpy. I guess the most important thing is to remember that it is just hair, and it is just one day so don’t stress yourself out too much about it. After all, it’s only hair, right? ![]()
