How to Throw a Cheese Tasting Party
Do you have a bunch of friends who love to eat? Why not throw a cheese tasting party?
After all, cheese is one of the most loved and appreciated foods and it is a great way to get together with your friends and have a good time.
Here are some tips to help you put together your party so everything goes perfectly and you have a lot of fun.
Make Your Guest List
Invite any of your friends that you think might be into eating a bunch of really good cheese. Usually a group of about 6-10 people works well for an event like this, but really any number of guests you want to invite will be perfect.
Get Your Cheese
Next up it’s time to get the star of your party…the cheese. The goal of a cheese tasting party is to eat some really good cheese. That means that you are going to have to branch out from the standard cheese section at your grocery store. Try hitting the deli instead and see what kinds of cheese they have to offer.
For even more variety check out a specialty shop or deli in your area. These types of stores are great because the person behind the counter is usually very knowledgeable and will be able to advise you on what types of cheese to try as well as the best way to eat them.
Get Any Extras You May Need
Different cheeses can be complimented with different kinds of food. Some are great with breads and crackers while others go perfectly with fresh fruit. If in doubt look up each cheese online for tips on how to serve it. Or, ask the person at the counter when you are buying the cheese.
Get Set Up for the Party
Each guest should have a plate to put their cheese on and any utensils that may be required to eat it. Don’t forget to provide napkins as well. Set each cheese out on its own plate or cutting board and allow guests to serve themselves from the tray.
Eat Your Cheese!
At the party it can be fun to have everyone try the cheeses in a specific order so you can talk about them. Or, if you prefer a more carefree environment just let everyone chow down on cheese and talk amongst themselves. You really can’t go wrong either way. The most important thing is that you and your guest have fun and that you all get to eat some good cheese.
