1. Make a Romantic Dinner
Hit the grocery store on your way home from work and stock up on ingredients for a meal, candles, a nice bottle of wine and an elegant dessert. Cooking a romantic dinner for your significant other is a great way to show them that you care…and it looks like you put a lot of thought into it.
2. Recreate Your First Date
If you are looking for a last minute gift idea that really packs a punch why not recreate your first date? Nothing is quite as romantic and it is a great way to show that you care.
3. Get a Gift Certificate
Let them choose what they want by buying a gift certificate from one of their favorite stores. Or, try a gift certificate for a massage, a day at the spa or any other place where they can be pampered.
4. Buy Tickets for a Show
Check the schedule of your local theater, arena or performance center for upcoming events. Find something you think your sweetheart would enjoy and buy tickets for the show. Even if you buy the tickets online and don’t have them in hand to give to them you can still print out show posters or ads and give them to them to let them know that you got the tickets.
5. Make a “Mix Tape”
Record a CD of romantic songs or songs that have special meaning to the two of you. Put it in a blank jewel case and make a special cover for it. Most CD burning programs have software that allows you to create jewel case covers. Try adding a photo of the two of you or some words that have special meaning like a poem to the cover to make it really personal and meaningful.
