What to Take to an Outdoor Event

Summer time fun often involves being outdoors at fairs, picnics, sporting events or parties. Make sure that you have the most fun possible this year by remembering to bring everything you need. Here’s a quick rundown of what to take to an outdoor event to get you started.

Sunscreen

Even a partly cloudy day can result in a sunburn if you aren’t properly protected. Be sure to pack along sunscreen any time you plan to be outdoors. Always put sunscreen on before you go into the sun. Sunburns can sneak up on your quickly so it is a good idea to always be protected. Don’t forget lip balm with sunscreen in it too!

Sunglasses

Shading your eyes not only protects them from the sun, but it can help you see more clearly. This can be especially important at places like sporting events where the sun can otherwise limit your view.

Seating

Not all outdoor events will call for seating, but whenever necessary you should bring your own. For sporting events or other events where you will be sitting on bleachers look for back rests that allow you to lean back and relax your back a little. Picnics, fishing trips and camping all can benefit from camp chairs or folding chairs to get you up off the ground and into a more comfortable position. If nothing else throw in a blanket to sit on to keep you off the grass and help protect your clothes.

Water

Hot days can leave you dehydrated so it is a good idea to pack a few bottles of water along with you when you are going out. Staying hydrated can keep you energized and feeling great all day so you can enjoy the event. You never know if you are going to be able to get water at an event so it is a good idea to bring it with you when you can.

A Backpack or Tote Bag

Bringing a bag to pack your gear is always a good idea so you don’t have to lug it around in your hands. Not only that, but you can use a backpack to carry anything you might buy or win on your day out.

Rain Gear

If it looks like rain don’t forget to bring protective rain gear. Umbrellas are great but can be bulky to carry. You may want to opt for ponchos or rain jackets that can be rolled up tightly into a small ball until needed to save on space.

With these basics covered you should be set to have a fun and comfortable day in at whatever outdoor event you are attending.
